Comprehensive Guide to Residential Pool Chemistry

This intensive course will cover all aspects of pool chemistry, including water balance, calculations, measurements and conversions, the use and benefits of borates, alternative sanitation methods, cyanuric acid, the Langelier Saturation Index (LSI), water testing techniques, and more. This course is recommended for pool service technicians looking for more advanced knowledge and service professionals working in a supervisory role out in the field.
Professionals who attend the entire course and successfully complete a written skills assessment exam will receive a Pool Chemistry Training Institute certificate.

A Pro's Guide to Above Ground Pool Installations

This hands-on class features live demonstrations and classroom presentations that will walk you through how to be successful at every step of your above group pool installation. Starting with site selection and preparation, you'll learn the essential tips for ensuring your installation is set up for success from the beginning. The class will then go over how to assemble the framework correctly.
This is where things get interesting! We aren't just talking about assembly work. We are doing it right in the classroom with your help. Get practical experience and learn by doing. Next, you'll review how to install a wrinkle-free vinyl liner and then take those lessons straight to our assembled pool to put your knowledge to work.
Combining classroom instruction with hands-on training will prepare you to take on more work in the booming above ground pool market.
Tile & Coping Hands-On Workshop

This advanced three-hour session will consist of classroom instruction and hands-on activity, giving attendees a clear understanding of the dos and don'ts of coping and tile installation during a two-hour presentation of correct tile and coping methods. Industry experts will discuss the tools you need, how to select the right materials, and proper wall and surface preparation techniques. After the presentation, you'll participate in an exclusive hands-on workshop where you'll put the lessons you learned into practice during a one-hour tile and coping installation project. This unique, hands-on opportunity will ensure you walk away from The Show, ready to use what you've learned on your company's next job. Class size will be limited.
Heater Hands-On Workshop
Tuesday, January 23 OR Wednesday, January 24
2:00 – 3:30 pm on the Show Floor

Take part in a hands-on opportunity to learn the locations of critical heater parts and their functions. Students will learn to identify parts such as the gas valve, 24v transformer, headers, burners, and ignition source. Testing locations and parameters will be covered, such as gas test ports and pressures, and electrical test locations & voltages. Commonly serviced components will be accessed, and procedures for removal and replacement will be demonstrated, including the burner tray, individual burners, inlet/outlet header, and heat exchanger. The limited class size ensures more individual instruction with open conversation and discussion, directly addressing questions as they occur during the session.
